Student Zoom accounts will be automatically changed to simplified Zoom accounts on May 7, 2026. 

What Students Need to Know  

  • These simplified licenses will allow you to attend zoom meetings of any length and host short (40 minute) meetings. 
  • Students will continue to be able to attend virtual classes and Zoom meetings set up by faculty.  
  • Teaching Assistants and Graduate Assistants will continue to be able to facilitate meetings set up by faculty. 
  • Faculty zoom accounts will not be impacted on May 7, 2026. 

What Students Need to Do  

  • No action is required to your Zoom account because the change is automatic.   
  • To host longer virtual meetings, students have access to MS Teams.   
  • When creating videos for class assignments, save the video locally to your desktop and then upload it to Webcourses@UCF.
