The Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) supports UCF’s academic and administrative mission by delivering reliable instructional technology services. We partner with faculty and staff to design, support, and enhance classroom, event, and campus technology while helping create engaging learning environments and successful experiences across the university.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) is to advance the academic, research, and administrative goals of the University of Central Florida by supporting faculty through the thoughtful design, application, and delivery of multimedia resources and services. We are committed to fostering excellence for faculty, staff, and students by enabling innovative classroom design and instructional technology.
OIR brings together diverse teams with expertise across educational technology to provide responsive, high‑quality support. By partnering with faculty, we help integrate multimedia and instructional technologies that enhance student learning and create engaging, intuitive classroom experiences.

CLASSROOM SUPPORT
The Office of Instructional Resources team designs multimedia systems with end-user functionality needs in mind. We also support and train our faculty and staff on the use of the multimedia systems we install. We strive to standardize our core systems. Sometimes functionality or equipment is different, and you may need help to get your class or meeting up and running. Below are some additional resources as well as how to contact our team for support.

EVENT PRODUCTION
The Event Production specialists support your event technology so you are able to manage your event with confidence.
Successful events don’t just happen. We can help with the technical aspects of your event. Events Production offers full audio & video services to the campus community and organizations using UCF facilities. Contact us for live web streaming, multimedia presentation playback, recording, or sound support for your next event!
Live Streaming
Live streaming is everywhere, and we can help you expand your event’s reach on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Zoom, or Teams. If you prefer not to stream, we can record your event for later viewing. Our live streaming services can include multi‑camera setups, professional audio, and seamless integration of presentations such as PowerPoint.
Multimedia Presentation Playback
An event technician will be on location to facilitate the playback and display of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
Video and Audio Recording
Record both audio and video of an event into a deliverable digital video format. This service could include editing and post-production.
Sound Support
We can provide microphones, audio playback and recording of a presentation or meeting, and speaker playback support for your event.

AUDIO/VISUAL SYSTEMS DESIGN & PROGRAMMING
The A/V Systems Design and A/V Systems Programming teams partner to design, deliver, and support UCF’s audio/visual environments. The Systems Design team provides system planning, technical design, and standards assurance for instructional and administrative spaces. The A/V Systems Programming team develops control software, audio configurations, and user interfaces for consistent and accessible user experience. Together, they collaborate across project and support teams and provide advanced post‑deployment support to keep AV systems reliable, scalable, and user‑focused campus‑wide.

Audio/Visual Systems Design
The Audio/Visual Systems Design Engineering team is responsible for the planning, design, and technical assurance of audiovisual systems across UCF instructional and administrative spaces. The team leads AV system design and layout, develops technical drawings and schematics, conducts site surveys, and collaborates closely with project management, procurement, programming, and classroom support to ensure solutions align with OIR design standards and institutional requirements. Design Engineering provides engineering verification for projects, supports installation and configuration, and serves as tier3 technical support post deployment—handling advanced troubleshooting, warranty coordination, programming changes, and standards compliance to ensure reliable, consistent, and scalable AV environments campuswide
Audio/Visual Systems Programming
The Audio/Visual Systems Programming team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the software and control logic that powers UCF’s audio‑visual systems. The team programs and supports control systems, audio DSP configurations, and standardized graphical user interfaces in alignment with OIR programming standards, ensuring consistent and accessible user experiences across instructional and administrative spaces. Systems Programming collaborates closely with Design Engineering, Project Management, and installation teams to define programming requirements, meet project milestones, and commission systems for new construction, renovations, and technology refreshes. Post‑deployment, the team provides advanced (tier‑3) support, including troubleshooting, programming refinements, firmware updates, and standards evolution to maintain reliable, scalable, and user‑focused AV environments campus‑wide.

TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION
The UCF IT Technology Adoption Team bridges the gap between UCF IT and the students, faculty, and staff who rely on its systems every day. We support our end users through technology transitions driven by UCF IT, ensuring a smooth and confident experience at every step. Through targeted training on both new and existing technologies, we empower the entire UCF community to become power users of the tools available to them.

IT Change Managers
The UCF IT/OIR IT Change Management team engages stakeholders across the university to ensure a seamless introduction of new projects and initiatives, whether they impact the entire UCF community or a targeted subset. We oversee the Technology Adoption Specialists and collaborate extensively with the Business Systems Analysts to align efforts across teams. By providing structured feedback to UCF IT and stakeholders, we help shape effective communication plans and identify meaningful end user training opportunities.
Business Systems Analysts
The UCF IT/OIR Business Systems Analyst team serves as the primary liaison between UCF IT and academic or central support units. The team works collaboratively to align technology solutions with institutional goals by analyzing business processes, identifying inefficiencies, and defining system requirements. Through close partnership with the Project Management Office, IT Service Management, Organizational Change Management and Technology Adoption teams, the team supports the successful implementation, communication, and adoption of new systems and processes across the university.
Technology Adoption Specialists
The UCF IT/OIR Technology Adoption Specialist team provides personalized, support to students, faculty, and staff — both in-person and online — helping end users navigate UCF-supported software and enterprise systems such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Generative AI tools. We develop and deliver training through live webinars, workshops, on-demand tutorials, and tailored quick-start resources to build digital skills across the UCF community. By partnering with UCF IT, departments business centers, and colleges, we align training and outreach efforts with major system rollouts to drive confident, ethical, and effective technology adoption campus-wide.
