InfoComm Tour

Welcome to UCF! The Office of Instructional Resources will be our host for today’s tour of UCF.

The University of Central Florida is one of the largest universities in the U.S., with over 64,000 students and more than 12,000 faculty and staff. The 1,415-acre main campus is 13 miles east of downtown Orlando and adjacent to one of the top research parks in the nation.

It is also a pedestrian-centered campus, with most parking and roads on the perimeter. Our tour will take us to opposite sides of the campus. We will come back to the bus after the first stop to get everyone across campus.

There are 5 rooms in three buildings we’ll see today. We will break the tour into two groups to make it easier to get around. Both groups will get to see every room.

FOR TUESDAY’S TOUR: One of today’s groups will be accompanied by InfoComm videographers. So, if you don’t want to be on camera, please make sure you go with the other group!

  • Our first stop is the UCF Teaching Academy. Here we’ll get to see a large lecture-style classroom and a new installation with several connected breakout rooms.
  • After that we’ll get back on the bus to go to the opposite side of campus.
  • Once there, we’ll tour the UCF Global building. Global is the newest building on campus. Here we’ll see a dividable event space on the first floor, and an active-learning style technology lab on the third floor.
  • Finally, we’ll bring the two groups back together to walk across Memory Mall to Classroom Building 2 to see some of the largest classrooms on campus.

If we get ahead of schedule we may add one more stop to the list.
