Crestron DigitalMedia™ Room Designs

UCF has standardized all multimedia rooms to include a high definition presentation control and signal routing solution providing high quality routing of numerous digital sources. The Office of Instructional Resources (OIR) is the primary AV designer and installer for UCF’s multimedia spaces. All such spaces are to use an equipment and control design created or approved by OIR. OIR shall regularly review equipment options to determine standards for all installed audio-visual equipment.

Specialized equipment (microscopes, etc.) may be integrated and installed in certain spaces upon consultation with the supporting College and the Registrar’s Office. Voice amplification using microphones may be required in larger rooms.

While specific equipment will vary by room size, each room shall have at least the following functionality:

 

Single Display

Single Display Classroom
  1. (1) Desktop PC with DVD drive and at least (2) HDMI outputs
  2. (1) HD video projector and projection screen of a size appropriate for the space OR (1) HD LED flat panel display of a size appropriate for the space
  3. (1) HDMI input (laptops, etc.)
  4. (1) HD desktop document camera
  5. (1) Crestron DigitalMedia™ system, including appropriate touch panels, switchers and processors appropriate for the size of the space, supporting resolutions up to 1080p
  6. Inputs for integration of older analog technology (VGA)
  7. Amplifier and speaker system appropriate to room size and configuration

 

Dual Display

Dual Display Classroom
  1. (1) Desktop PC with DVD drive and at least (2) HDMI outputs
  2. (2) HD video projectors and projection screens of a size appropriate for the space OR (2) HD LED flat panel displays of a size appropriate for the space
  3. (1) HDMI input (laptops, etc.)
  4. (1) HD desktop document camera
  5. (1) Crestron DigitalMedia™ system, including appropriate touch panels, switchers and processors appropriate for the size of the space, supporting resolutions up to 1080p

Videoconferencing

All videoconference and telepresence systems are required to be registered on the UCF telepresence network infrastructure.

Recording software is not included and is to be discussed separately. Lecture capture rooms follow a variation of this standard.
The microphones in this configuration are not used for in-room voice amplification.
